Morden science today has found out that herbs are very useful when it comes to handling diabetes. Along with proper and nutritious diet and regular exercise, it becomes easy to control sugar levels. Here are some herbs which can be very helpful in controlling diabetes.
Cinnamon-
Cinnamon not only reduces inflammation but also helps regulate blood sugar.Diabetes is one of the diseases associated with inflammation. Cinnamon is the best remedy for this. Cinnamon reduces insulin resistance as it has anti-inflammatory properties, hence provides antioxidant activity. Glycation is a chemical reaction that occurs more rapidly in people with diabetes.

Aloe Vera-
Preliminary research suggests that an intake of its juice can help improvise blood glucose levels. Hence, it may be useful in treating people with diabetes. This plant has been used for years and has been known for its healing properties. The juice extracted from Aloe Vera is beneficial in reducing sugar in the blood of people with diabetes. Aloe Vera plant's dried sap can be used to treat diabetes.

Bitter melon-
It relievesthirst and fatigue, which are the symptoms of type 2 diabetes. Researches show that the extract of bitter melon can reducesugar in the blood of people with diabetes.
Some animal studies offer evidence that bitter melon may stimulate renewed growth of pancreatic beta-cells, the cells producing insulin. In Insulin-dependent diabetic patients,these cells are necessarily "burned out" and no longer produce insulin.

Green Tea-
Along with being a path to a healthy life, green tea plays the most important role when it comes to dealing with diabetes. It can help to balance the insulin resistance in diabetes. Because of the antioxidants it is beneficial in reducing the chances of diabetes. 4-5 cups of green tea can prevent you from being a diabetic.

Holy Basil-
This herbal supplement for diabetes is commonly used in India, traditionally as a medicine for diabetes. It may increase theinsulin secretion. A group of people with diabetes on being tested during an experiment showed a positive result,both during fasting blood sugar test and also on blood sugar test following a meal.
Babul-
It is said to be found all over India. The plant extractisan antidiabetic agent, as it releases insulin. Powdered seeds of Acacia arabica when administered, induced hypoglycemic effect which initiates the liberation of insulin from pancreatic beta cells.
Onion-
When diabetic patients are given a singledose having onion juice orally,it can control post-prandial glucose level and helps a diabetic patient.

Neem-
Hydroalcoholic extracts of this plant show anti-hypoglycemic activity in streptozotocin because of an increase in glucose uptake and glycogen deposition. Apart from being anti-diabetic, this plant also has many other useful qualities.

Fenugreek-
Fenugreek was found to have a significant impact on managing blood sugar. A unique amino acid from fenugreek seeds increases the glucose-stimulated insulin, which is released by isolating islet cells of humans. It is found all over India and is majorly used as Indian spices.
