OVERVIEW OF DISEASE DIABETES mellitus (DM)

Diabetes (Diabetes) is a Disease caused due to the occurrence of metabolic disorders, namely the way the body uses digested food for energy and growth. Digestive system bertugasmengubah most foods into sugar which then enter the bloodstream as fuel for cells - the cells of the body.

In order for the body's cells accept sugar, then insulin (a hormone produced by the pancreas) should send it entered, in normal conditions the pancreas can produce enough insulin to regulate blood sugar levels.

Diabetes Millitus usually characterized by hyper glycemia or elevation of blood sugar levels  interference on spending insulin secretion, insulin action or both. In some types of diabetes, glucose enter the body's cells in a limited number. The result is a buildup of sugar in the blood, while the rest goes into the urine / discarded

DM disease can cause long-term complications such as heart disease, kidney failure, blindness and disorders of the blood vessels and nerves. Damage to blood vessels big and small is the source of most of these complications.
